Saab Web FAQ’s

Why do you need a key code ?
We need the key code in order to cut the physical key for your vehicle.

Do you guarantee the “mechanical” key to work ?
We guarantee the key to be correct for the code provided, we do not guarantee the key to work. We can not guarantee we have been given the correct code.

Where do I get the key code ?
The key code is available from the Saab dealer, The dealer is going to require you to provide picture ID, like a drivers license. And Proof of ownership of the vehicle, like registration or title.

Where is the (Twice, Alarm, CIM) module located ?
The Alarm module is located on the drivers side, on the floor, under the carpet. Between the seat and the door sill.
The Twice module is located on the floor, under the drivers seat, under the carpet.
The CIM module (Column Integrated Module) is located on the steering column just behind the steering wheel. It is the part with the turn signal & wiper arms attached to it.

My dealer says this service is not possible.
As far as a dealer is concerned, it is not possible for them to do.
Saab does not give their dealers this ability, they would rather sell more new parts.

Why does the dealer charge so much?
Dealers don't have any programming options available to them other than to replace parts. They are passing along the expense of those NEW parts to you.

How do I know if my Saab had a Transponder “chip” in the key.
All Saab 93’s and 95’s are equipped with transponder chips.

How sure are you that you can program keys to my car?
We have programmed literally hundreds of T.W.I.C.E. modules with 100% success rate. We test every module to ensure the programming was successful before returning it to you.

Can I buy a used smart key from the internet (Ebay)?
NO! Used smart keys are no longer programmable to any other car. Once programmed to a car, they stay married to that that car. A new smart key must be ordered from your dealer and then programmed into your car.

Why can't I use a module salvaged from a wrecking yard?
Modules are programmed and married to whatever car they are in. They cannot be moved from vehicle to vehicle without reprogramming.

If I find my old keys can they be programmed back into my T.W.I.C.E. module?
Yes. Take it to your local locksmith or dealer and have it programmed back into the car. Test it in your car first. There is a possibility that it was the same value we used to add new keys to your car, and it might work without programming.
